My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Throw away that california roll, we have the best Sushi you've ever had right here at ACCT Philly! Sushi is a sweet and shy boy who takes a bit to warm up, but then loves to melt in your arms! Sushi found himself at the shelter when he was found as a stray in Philly. His finder described him as 'shy and very sweet'. We love this boy at the shelter but hope he can find a loving forever home.

Sushi is now available for adoption and foster at ACCT Philly. You can meet him any day from 10am-6pm. Interested fosters should email foster@acctphilly.org.

Behavior:
Per Volunteer 11/16/24:
Sushi is very easy for leashing! He walks very slowly and hesitantly, stopping a lot to make sure of his surroundings. He will always come forward with some leash pressure and vocal encouragement. He’s a shy but sweet boy!! Take treats very gently doesn’t seem to know sit lol. Very gentle taking pets all over- he is hesitant when first approaching a new person but very loose body language. Likes to have her paws up on her people. Doesn’t love walking inside but came into his kennel when I dropped a trail of treats

Per Staff 11/13/24:
Super sweet dude. Loves love and seems interested in other dogs, but the potential adopters dog was too high energy for him bareling into Sushi and was too rough for Sushi

Per Staff 11/12/24: Behavior Eval
KNOWN HISTORY:

Stray

KENNEL PRESENTATION:

Sushi was standing by the door with soft wide eyes. He was patient and continued to stand with low wags and soft eyes. Allowed for very easy leashing and exited without issue. Would not return to kennel but allowed the handler to carry him back!

LEASH SKILLS:

Pulls minimally

HANDLING:

In the room Sushi was well mannered and very easy to handle. He was wiggly in the room and would approach both handlers often for pets and attention. He leaned in for pets and was tolerant of all over petting. Very gentle when taking treats and showed knowledge of sit.

PLAY:

Engaged in play, did get aroused and lightly mounted but was easy to redirect.

TOYS:
