My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Teriyaki, a calm and gentle gal with a love for peaceful moments. Teriyaki is tolerant and very sweet, allowing all handling without fuss, though she doesn't lean in for affection just yet-she's content to simply enjoy your companionship nearby.
She's a friendly girl with other dogs, having shown good manners and polite interest when meeting another pup through the fence. Teriyaki is a smart girl, too-she already knows how to sit and takes treats gently.

She's the type of pup who will quietly nap and wait, dreaming of her forever family. Teriyaki is ready to bring her quiet charm and gentle presence to a loving home that appreciates her sweet, laid-back nature.

Eligible for rescue and adoption. Meet Teriyaki at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

11/11/24 Volunteer noted: Teriyaki is such a chill lady!
She was easy to leash and walk through the kennels. Outside, she enjoyed soaking up some sun and smelling around. When we were in the long run, she had good interactions with a dog through the fence several times. After a bit, she was uninterested in the dog and just walking around. It seems like she may do well living with other dogs! Teriyaki also seems to know sit (see video!) https://youtube.com/shorts/GmVTb7k_4t0?feature=shared and took treats very gently.
When it was time to go back, she resisted and took a while to exit the long run. It was even more challenging as we approached the back door to return to the kennels. I eventually needed an assist from an animal care attendant. He also had a bit of a hard time getting her to walk through the gate and eventually took her inside through the front door of the adoption center. Once inside, teriyaki walked through the kennels and jumped right inside of hers with no issue.
Her blanket was soiled so the ACA removed it. When I later came back with a new blanket, Teryaki was napping. I opened the door and she just laid there and allowed me to unfold and put two blankets onto her bed. She didn't jump up or try to run out and is just so sweet.
When I left her, she was laying there waiting patiently for her forever family to come get her. She's going to make a great addition to her next home!
