Hey there! Meet Twinks, a sweet and resilient young dog who’s had a rough start but is ready for a fresh beginning. Just about a year old,
Twinks was abandoned in one of Memphis’s most challenging areas. There, she survived on scraps and even had a litter of puppies that no one could find. Thankfully, a kind soul started leaving her food and water every night, and she was overjoyed. When it came time to get her off the streets, it didn't take much—some dogs need to be trapped—not this gal—and she happily jumped into the rescuer's van!
She loves indoor life with four other dogs and adores playing with them! She's adjusting well to home life, though she’s still learning potty manners. Recently spayed and receiving heartworm treatment, Twinks is on the path to total health.
Unfortunately, her current foster mom in TN is dealing with a severe illness and can’t keep up with Gracie’s energy long-term, so she is looking for a forever home.
This smart, affectionate girl is eager to learn and loves belly rubs, lap time, and playing with other dogs. If Twinks story has touched your heart, please consider adopting her!

More about this rescue
PAWS is comprised of a small group of volunteers from New England and Tennessee trying to reduce the euthanization rate (previously 90%) at the Tipton County Animal Control shelter in Brighton, Tennessee. This shelter is forced to euthanize thousands of animals each year due to irresponsible pet owners that do not spay/ neuter their dogs in the area. Millions of dogs in America are euthanized each year due to lack of space and lack of funding to try and find them better homes.
Our mission is to save as many animals as possible, removing them from the shelter, having their veterinary needs met prior to traveling and then finding them loving homes throughout New England. We do this only with the assistance of many people volunteering their time by going to the shelter, transporting the dogs to the vet, fostering dogs who need special care, and arranging for their new and happy homes in this area. Most importantly, we cannot do any of this without those people willing to open their homes and hearts to these lovely creatures.
