My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a Good Samaritan on November 7th, 2024.

At SDHS:
This pet has received excellent care and is now ready for a new home!

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet this animal! A a beautiful pet that is looking for her new paradise. They can do extremely well locally, given proper care. They are born quite small, and grow to be 75 pounds with exceptionally large individuals weighing more than 100 pounds - and they live for up to 70 years! They should spend most of their time outside in a large area with access to sunlight and shade; as well as a heated outdoor home. Sadly, they are not suitable for apartment living, but we do have lots of other pets available who are! Our Adoption team will go over more details for their care, but due to their special care needs, we do recommend doing research and having your turtle-safe area ready prior to adopting. More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
