My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I'm Rhino, a 4 year old male American guinea pig who is bonded with my buddy, Cow and we must be adopted together. We were originally bought at a pet store but surrendered by our family since they were unable to care for us. We are a sweet and loving pair and we are always looking for treats. I am the shy piggie and Cow loves to drives me crazy but we can't be without each other. If you are interested in being our forever family, please see below.
To adopt, go to the "ADOPTION" tab on our website www.ogpr.org and complete the REQUIRED 4 steps.

We ask for a minimum donation of $50 per guinea pig made to the rescue. One free wellness check at our specified vet is included with each adopted guinea pig.

Go meet their pets

The Oakhurst Guinea Pig Rescue is based out of Decatur, Georgia. We are a foster based rescue so we DO NOT have a brick and mortar building. All of our guinea pigs live in foster homes and once your application is accepted, we will schedule a meet and greet appointment for you to meet and adopt a pair of guinea pigs or a single guinea pig ONLY if you have a single guinea pig that needs a buddy. GUINEA PIGS SHOULD NOT LIVE ALONE BUT IN PAIRS OR MORE.

More about this rescue

The goal of Oakhurst Guinea Pig Rescue is two-fold: to educate the public on the uniqueness and proper care of these treasured family members and help rescue and "rehome" the many abandoned guinea pigs right here in Georgia. Our web site contains information on proper care and links to our adoptable guinea pigs. We also love to help and give advice to families just starting with guinea pigs. If you have any questions, please reach out to us!
