My story

Mela needs a home!

She is a 9-10 month old Maltese/Poodle mix who's owner was not able to keep her. She is almost full grown and weighs 12 pounds.

Mela is a high energy girl and loves other dogs. She has not been around kids, but we think that she would do well with older kids. We think that a home without small kids would be best. She has also not been around cats, so we do not know how she would be with a cat.

Mela is NOT housetrained!

Like all "doodles", Mela with need an owner committed to her coat care! She will require daily and weekly maintenance and periodic grooming with a professional groomer for trims.

Once approved and you agree the pet is right for you, sign the contract, pay the adoption fee and take your new family member home!

The Fayette County Humane Society (FCHS), staffed entirely by volunteers, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supported entirely by individual and corporate donations. Because we do not have a shelter, all of the animals we rescue live in temporary foster homes until they are adopted. We believe that all companion pets have intrinsic value and should be treated with the reverence and care they deserve.
