My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Weeping Willow is a confident, independent cat with a charming personality. She knows what she likes and isn't shy about it! A true lounge queen, she prefers to mind her own business and will approach you when she's ready for attention. And when she does, get ready for some affectionate headbutts! Willow loves head rubs, chin scratches, and gentle pets along her back but prefers hands off her hind area and isn't a fan of long cuddles or being held. She can get a little overstimulated if pet too much, so she's looking for an adult-only home where she can relax on her own terms. Willow enjoys scratching boxes, a laser pointer, and feather wand toys, especially when they're played low to the ground. Once she chooses you, she'll be your most loyal companion!

More about this shelter

The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.

To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.

There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.

We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
