My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Winifred, a sweet and gentle young female with a heart of gold! Winifred may be a bit shy at first, but once she feels comfortable and safe, her loving and affectionate personality truly shines. She's the type of cat who takes her time to warm up to new people, but once she trusts you, she'll be your loyal companion.

One of Winifred's favorite pastimes is hiding under blankets-she loves to burrow into soft, cozy spots where she can feel secure and relaxed. But don't let her quiet demeanor fool you; once she's settled in, she's incredibly sweet and enjoys gentle attention. Winifred is looking for a patient and loving home where she can take her time adjusting and where she'll be cherished for the unique, loving cat that she is.

If you're looking for a calm and affectionate companion who will reward your patience with plenty of love, Winifred might be the perfect fit for you!

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
