My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Acorn!

Acorn is a two-year-old, 55-pound lab-shepherd mix with a heart full of love and an endless zest for life! This playful and goofy girl is looking for an active, loving home where she can channel her high energy and show off her smarts.

Acorn is highly intelligent and eager to learn, making her a great fit for someone who enjoys training or looking for an adventure buddy. She loves to play and has a knack for making everyone laugh with her silly antics. Whether it’s a game of fetch, a hike, or learning a new trick, Acorn is always up for the challenge!

Acorn does well with bigger dogs and is also cat-friendly, making her a fun addition to a pet-loving household. However, due to her energy level and size, a home without young children or small dogs would be best. Acorn is potty trained and crate trained.

If you’re an experienced dog owner with an active lifestyle, Acorn could be the perfect match for you. She’s ready to bring joy, energy, and companionship into her forever home!

All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home.

We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application.

We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information.

We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.

Go meet their pets

As a network of foster homes, we do not have a "shelter location". We do hold meet and greet events each month at various locations where you can meet our precious pitties. Otherwise, meet and greets are only available with an approved application and home visit.

You can view our schedule of events at www.adoptapitrescue.org/events or on our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/adoptapitrescue
