My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This little sootball came from a colony of neglected & abandoned cats. Having never been socialized around humans, Pastel and her friends were incredibly nervous, and afraid. After much work, she is slowly finding humans (and their treats) acceptable. Crunchy treats and wand toys seem to entice her, as well as bird videos on Youtube.

While she has never raised her paws, or her voice, she has developed a 'nervous hiss' that comes out if things move too quickly. Though it grows softer by the day, potential adopters should be aware that Pastel will need some work. We believe she still has the potential to be the cuddly little kitten in your lap.

Due to her background, we are looking for a quiet home, with patient, experienced people who are willing to work with Pastel's needs. Another friend may help Pastel open up, however this is not a requirement.

Pastel is on anti-anxiety medication and will likely need to come to her new home with them. Due to her medication needs and her upcoming spay she will be "foster to adopt", which we will happily explain when you come to meet this handsome boy.

For adoption applications:

1. Submit an online application and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit. Kindly note that due to the high number of applications, we will only be contacting suitable potential adopters to further review their interest.

OR

2. Visit the Surrey BC SPCA at 16748 50 Ave, to meet Pastel to learn more about their ideal match and apply to adopt in person.

If you are invited to meet Pastel please come prepared with a cat carrier as we do same-day adoptions if the meet goes well. We recommend being prepared with a litter bin, litter, food and water dishes, and toys before bringing your new family member home.
