My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I’m Barkley, but you can call me “Stash” – yeah, you see that glorious mustache? I mean, I’ve got the facial hair of a gentleman, but don’t be fooled – I’m all about fun! They call me “Stash Barkley” around here because I rock this ‘stache like a legend.

I’m a poodle mix (possibly with a little terrier in me), so I’ve got the charm and smarts, but just a heads-up – I can’t promise I’m completely shed-free. I’m four years old and have the energy of a puppy, which means I’m always up for playtime! Just this week, I learned this super cool game called fetch. (Why didn’t anyone tell me about this sooner?) You throw the toy, I bring it back, and we both get a good laugh – it’s the best!

Toys? Obsessed. Chewies? Can’t get enough. Belly rubs? Just say when. I also love to wrestle and hang out with my foster brother and sister – they’re a pretty fun crowd, and I fit right in. I get along great with other dogs and people too, because I’m just the happiest little guy around!
I’m still learning the whole potty-training thing. But now that I’m “fixed” (don’t ask – it was a bit of a surprise to me too), things should get easier. I’d do best with someone who’s home often or works from home regularly, especially while I’m getting the hang of potty training. And having a doggie friend and a yard for quick bathroom breaks would make things even better!

Oh, and bedtime? I’m a pro. I sleep right through the night, snuggled up in bed with my foster parents – it’s cozy and perfect, just the way I like it.

I came from a busy shelter after my previous family fell on hard times. But I’m not letting that bring me down – I’ve settled right into this new life and am ready to bring my mustache, my playfulness, and my love of life to a new forever family. So, whaddya say? Don’t you want this ‘Stash in your life?

Thank you for your interest in one of our furry kids! Adopting from Releash Atlanta means you will adopt a dog that has been fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped and medically cleared!! While we make our best guesses, we often don’t know what breeds our kiddos are made of. We cannot guarantee our guesses will always be right but CAN guarantee they are 100% good dogs! Our adoption fee is $350.

**We only adopt to families in/around Atlanta, Ga (about a 1-2 hour perimeter)**

Additional adoption info

The apps are submitted and intensely screened for general approval by a phone interview and vet check. Once approved it is sent to the foster to see if it is a match for their foster dog where another interview takes place. If both agree it seems like a good fit. A meet is scheduled where the whole potential family and any current pets meet the foster and foster dog. A home check is done. Then once both agree it is in fact a good fit, they will sign a contract, pay a fee and take the dog home that day if the foster likes, or the next day so both parties can sleep on it to make sure it's right.

More about this rescue

We are 100% volunteer run rescue saving dogs from high kill shelters throughout the state of Georgia. We do not discriminate breeds, health concerns, injury, illness or surgical need. We save all ages, sizes, breeds, etc. Once saved - they are sent straight to the vet to be fully examined, have any health concerns addressed and cleared and then sent to the foster home for evaluation. Once evaluated, we come up with a bio to determine their best fit for a forever home.
