Meet Annie Mae! This 4-year-old Basset Hound/Weimaraner mix is as sweet as they come. She’s had a bit of a rough start, originally coming to us from a high-kill shelter in East Texas after her previous owner surrendered her for “barking at the FedEx delivery driver.” Despite that, Annie Mae is a friendly, neutral, and loving companion who just wants to be close to her people.
Annie Mae was adopted once but was returned due to some separation anxiety, which causes her to howl when left alone. She’s currently on medication to help keep her calm, and her wonderful foster family is working hard to help her overcome this. She’s a world-class snuggler and loves curling up on the couch or bed for some quality cuddle time.
Annie Mae is fantastic with other dogs, cats, and even farm animals! She’s also great with kids, making her a wonderful fit for families. We’re looking for a home with a family who can continue working with her on her separation anxiety and who can give her the support she needs. Annie Mae will need to be in a house (not an apartment or townhome) since she does become vocal when first left alone.
If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and truly lovable companion who will brighten your days, Annie Mae might just be the one for you. She’s ready to find a forever home that will love her as much as she’ll love them!
