🐕My Story🐕
I’m Diane, a gentle and curious 2- to 3-year-old mixed breed with a unique look and a big heart, and I’m excited to tell you my story.
I’m a petite mixed-breed girl with a sleek black coat, weighing in at 9 kg (about 20 lbs). My exact breed mix is a bit of a mystery, but I have the sturdy build and gentle eyes of a loyal companion, and I bring together all the best qualities of a unique rescue dog. My journey began in the countryside, where I was found living outdoors, pregnant and caring for my puppies. After my puppies were adopted by kind local families, I was brought to a shelter on my own. At first, I was so nervous that I hardly ate and became very thin, dropping down to just 6 kg. But thanks to the love and care of the volunteers, I slowly regained my health and am now at a healthy weight. I’m fully vaccinated, spayed, and living in foster care, where I’m beginning to open up and learn to trust people, one step at a time.
🐶Personality🐶
I can be a bit reserved around new people, but if you have a treat, I’ll happily accept it and start warming up. It may take me a few days to a week to fully relax and feel comfortable, but once I do, I’ll show my gentle, affectionate side. With those I trust, I’ll even roll over to show my belly! Sudden movements and loud noises from young children can make me feel uneasy, so I’d do best in a calm, understanding home. With patience and love, I know I’ll blossom into a loyal companion.
👫My Social Side❤️
When it comes to other dogs, I’m friendly and will approach for a quick hello, though I don’t really join in for play. I’m most comfortable with dogs around my size or smaller; larger or high-energy dogs can be a bit intimidating for me. I’d prefer a home where I can be the only dog, as I enjoy having my own space and don’t like sharing it too much. I’ve also encountered cats on walks—I’m curious about them, but if my human calls, I’ll follow along.
🔋My Energy Level & Walks🚶
I have a moderate energy level. I love outdoor activities and enjoy exploring, but after some time outside, I’m happy to settle down for a peaceful rest. On walks, I may pull on the leash a little, but I do my best to follow along and stay close to my person. I’m used to going potty outdoors and generally prefer it that way. While I’m still getting used to being in a car, once inside, I handle car rides well and am a quiet traveler.
✨More About Me ✨
I’m a quiet girl who rarely barks and doesn’t guard my food from humans, though I may give a gentle growl if another dog approaches my meal. I may whine a little in the kennel but settle down with reassurance. I’m also well-behaved for grooming; I don’t mind brushing, and I can tolerate nail trims with a bit of patience. Though I may be startled by new sounds or experiences, I quickly adapt after a few exposures.
