Greyson von Warin is a captivating, 2 year-old, black-and-red, pure German Shepherd. Greyson has a heart as big as his paws! This handsome guy was saved just in time from a shelter, where he was moments away from being put down. Lucky for him (and us!), we took a chance on this sweet, social boy—and it’s been nothing short of amazing. Greyson is a big love bug who’s always ready to meet new people. He loves attention, whether it’s belly rubs, head scratches or simply being by your side. He's an active, treat-motivated, eager-to-please guy who already knows commands like sit, down and paw. He takes treats gently and is always up for more training if it means getting some snacks! Greyson is good on a leash and enjoys long walks—he’s especially great walking in a group with other dogs. He has a blast exploring new places. In playgroups, Greyson is super curious and loves to sniff around but, when it comes to other dogs, he’s smooth and respectful when meeting new friends. He’s always up for a little playtime with the right dog but knows when to give other pups their space. Greyson is on the way to living his best life, making everyone he meets smile with his friendly, fun-loving personality!

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.
Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
