My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Willard: The Wondrous Hound of Happiness!

About Willard: Willard is a 7-month-old hound who is 100% certified lovable and ready to steal your heart. He’s the kind of pup who thinks every day is a party—complete with tail wags, playful pounces, and a sprinkle of silliness. Adopting Willard may result in spontaneous bouts of laughter and excessive snuggles.

Adoption Benefits:

  • Social Butterfly: Willard plays well with others—dogs, cats, you name it! He just wants to be friends (and possibly engage in some good old-fashioned wrestling).
  • Crate Trained: Willard has mastered the art of crate time! No messes here, folks. He’s like the world’s cutest roommate who respects personal space.
  • Potty Training in Progress: He’s working on house training and, with a bit of encouragement, will hold it like a champion!
  • Leash Walker Extraordinaire: Willard walks like a pro on a leash, making every stroll feel like a leisurely walk in the park.

Fun Fact: Willard is learning to bay, which means you’ll always know where he is in the house! (his vocals can be managed with training!)

Obedience Skills: He’s got the basics down—sit, crate, walk—and is eager to learn more. He’s the perfect student who just wants to please (and perhaps earn a treat or two).

Ideal Home: Willard would thrive in a home with plenty of love, toys, and maybe a sibling or two for some playful antics. Just watch out for any human youngsters; he might accidentally knock them over in his excitement.
If you’re looking for a happy, wiggly bundle of joy who’s ready to bring laughter and love into your life, look no further than Willard! He promises to fill your home with fun and maybe a bit of mischief. Come meet him—your new best friend is waiting! ❤️

More about this rescue

The London Sanctuary (TLS) focuses on providing a safe haven for elderly and unwanted Beagles and Hound Dogs, as well as other at-risk, large to medium-sized breeds, as space and funds permit. Special consideration is given to hounds of all types, which are also greatly at risk in northeast Florida.

• TLS rescues, rehabilitates, and re-homes as many dogs from area shelters as possible. Our priority is to save dogs most at-risk of euthanasia in shelter facilities.
• TLS attempts to place dogs through online pet-listing services and forums, and social media.
• TLS thoroughly screens prospective owners with home and veterinary reference checks.
• TLS houses a limited number of dogs as care-for-life dogs that cannot be placed either due to age and/or medical conditions.
• TLS provides ongoing support and education to all adopters.
• TLS spays/neuters and gives required immunizations and necessary medical treatment to all dogs prior to placement.
