Meet Jack, a playful and affectionate Beagle with a heart as big as his love for treats! This handsome guy sports a classic Beagle coat of white with brown and black patches, weighing in at 24 pounds—a perfect small companion. Jack is all about the snuggles, often curling up on his favorite blanket when he’s ready for a nap, and you might catch him perched on the arm of the couch like Snoopy, surveying his kingdom with curiosity.
Jack has made great strides since coming into rescue and he’s working hard to master the art of being a good boy. He’s working on becoming more comfortable in the crate and will go in it to relax without being prompted. He’s gained more confidence in his foster home and is showing off his playful side by jumping for treats and zooming around the yard! A fenced yard is ideal for Jack so he can play safely.
Jack is still nervous to meet other dogs and will opt to hide behind his people rather than play. He’s yet to meet a cat, but would likely need a slow introduction before feeling comfortable around them. He’s done well with older kids and will gladly accept snuggles from all people!

The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
