My name is Lucy!

Lucy is really a great dog. She's very friendly and loves people. When you meet her, she's likely to sit and hold out her paw. That's the first thing she did for me when I first visited her at the Dallas Animal Shelter and I took her outside in the yard area to play. I wasn't planning to adopt a dog that day 10 years ago (I already had three other dogs) but she was just so charming. Our vet told me Lucy was about a year old when I adopted her. Clearly someone loved her, because she knew how to sit and give you her paw.

Lucy's ideal home would be an older person without another pet. She must be an only dog. I learned as I was taking her home from DAS that she has strong food aggression, so she has a crate that I've learned she actually prefers. When I have my other dogs in another room and let her roam, she will inevitably go back to her crate and stay there.

She enjoys walks very much, but they don't have to be long walks. I pray Lucy can find a loving home. She's really a great dog.
