Lexi is a 7 year old spayed female looking for a foster or an adopter.
She is a retired breeder whose owner had a change in circumstances and asked for SSRI's help to find her a new home. Lexi has been with a long term foster who we had hoped would adopt her, but sadly her circumstances have changed as well and she can no longer keep Lexi.
Lexi is very much a Velcro girl that wants her person to herself. She is house trained, is not destructive in the house or car when left alone. Lexi does well at the groomers and at the boarding kennel. She can and has scaled a 4 foot fence! True springer legs. :). Lexi was 46 pounds when she first arrived and looking at her pictures we see this girl loves her food. She will need to have her food monitored to help her get back to her ideal body weight.
Lexi is reactive to other dogs, especially when on a leash. She would prefer to be the only dog in the home. She is timid around new people, but with time and treats warms up to them. She is unknown around children so an adult home would most likely be best for her. Lexi did live with a reclusive cat. She was intrigued by her and would try to sniff the cat, much to the cats dislike. :)
Lexi is up to date on her vaccinations. She does have dry eye that is treated daily with a small amount of prescription eye cream.
Lexi will thrive with someone who is patient and has knowledge about working with nervous dogs. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Lexi, please complete an adoption/foster application located on our website, under Oregon.
