My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Herman loves to walk, explore the woods, and lounge around the house with his people. He is a smart dog and has a good grasp of all his basic commands. As an older dog, Herman is just happy to be at home where things are comfortable. He is good with our kids, keeping an eye out to make sure they are safe, and making space for himself when uncomfortable. Since he was a pup, Herman has been a very anxious dog. It is difficult to leave him home alone; he does best with a bit of medication and left in a kennel or yard. Herman is very protective of our home and children. He makes an excellent guard dog but can make it difficult to have people over. On a few occasions, Herman has bitten someone new in our home, but not severely enough to require medical attention.

Herman would do best in a home with fewer visitors and people who are able to devote time to working with him on his fearfulness, reactivity, and anxiety. As a reward, you'll have a loyal friend and protector.
