My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My foster writes:
Jack is one of the most amazing dogs I have ever known. He's truly a gentle giant. As his foster mom, I am getting emotional writing this bio because I don't even think I can convey how kind, gentle, playful and thankful he is for his time with me and all the volunteers who have helped him along the way.
I live in Midtown Manhattan, where there's a lot of hustle and bustle. I often pass people on the street who are very scared of Jack given his stature and appearance, but last week I had a very different interaction with a lady. She stopped me and said that Jack looks like he has a kind soul. She kept repeating that and reinforcing how good of a dog he was. She had only seen him walking for like 15 seconds when she said this too. Tears came to my eyes and I thanked her profusely. Once we got home, I told Jack personally and I could tell he understood what I said in some capacity.
This is a dog that you fall in love with overnight. He is willing to adapt and learn and he's worth every ounce of training and guidance you can give him. He's dog friendly, listens very well, and is a total snuggle bug. He is a kind, courageous dog who has survived to 9+ years despite the state of health he was in when he first came to the shelter. I hope you can read this bio and experience even 1% of the joy and fulfillment this dog brings me. He has added so much to my life in the short time I've known him. If you're looking for a security guard and a lover boy all in one, we've found your guy!
