The calico is one of three kittens we "acquired," along with their mother, as malnourished strays in our rural neighborhood. After feeding them outside for a while, we have gotten them into an otherwise unused upstairs room. The orange kitten is male, the tabby (and of course the calico) are female. All are available for adoption.
Of the three, the tabby girl is the most playful, the orange boy is the most wary, the calico is the most self-contained. All three have proved to be well balanced and adaptable; for example, they show appropriate wariness but without panic in their limited contact with our well-behaved and cat-tolerant dog. They are all on the quiet and gentle side, but becoming more playful as they have settled in.
The pictures don't show it, but the kittens, like their mother, all have kinks in their tails.
