Schnitzel is a 1-year-old, 10-pound Dachshund mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart! This happy-go-lucky guy is working on his house-training and needs a patient home that can guide him along. Schnitzel has never met a stranger—he’s friendly with everyone he meets and loves soaking up pets and attention from his people.

This playful pup adores other dogs, his toys, and especially cuddle time! His foster mom believes he’d do great with kids, making him a wonderful choice for a family looking for a loving, outgoing companion. Schnitzel’s joy is contagious, and he’s happiest when he’s close to his person, whether it’s for a play session or a cozy nap.

If you’re ready for a loyal, playful, and affectionate friend, Schnitzel is the hot dog for you! His minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.

Wish Bone Canine Rescue rehabilitates and re-homes dogs. We are a not-for-profit, no-kill organization located in Central Illinois, whose primary focus is to find responsible, loving and permanent homes for the surrendered, abandoned, neglected or abused dogs from within our community. We do not discriminate based on a dog’s breed, age or health . We are a foster home based rescue; however, we also have a facility where dogs are cared for until foster placement or adoption.
