Wishbone is a 2 year old Cairn Terrier x Yorkie mix who is hoping her biggest wish will come true: a forever home of her own! Wishbone was surrendered to DPS with her buddy, Tofurkey, after their forever home was moving and unable to take their dogs along with them. We promised to find Wishbone an amazing forever home and welcomed her into the rescue. She made herself right at home and it’s been sunshine and rainbows ever since. Wishbone is a smaller gal, so she’s the perfect size to curl right into your lap forever. If you’re ready to win the biggest prize of all, adopt Wishbone!

Wishbone is a happy go lucky girl who is just about the cutest dog we’ve ever seen! She’s got the fluffiest little ears that quirk whenever she looks at you with her puppy dog eyes. Wishbone is sociable and loves being near her people, but she’s also able to occupy herself when she needs to. She would be a fabulous WFH companion as she is happy to snooze on the couch for hours, but would also stun your coworkers if you showed her on Zoom. Wishbone is super smart and food motivated, so she catches onto new tricks quickly. She’s eager to learn and excited to please her people. Wishbone loves to run and play outside, showing off her fabulous zoomies in the yard. Even though she’s small, she’d be an amazing addition to a family who likes to get outside and explore the outdoors. There’s no hike or beach trip this girl won’t take on, and she’ll do it with a smile and a wagging tail! Once she’s gotten her fill of adventure, she’s ready for a well-deserved nap on the couch as you scratch her ears. What a perfect little lady!

Wishbone wakes up at 7 AM and goes right outside for a potty trip. She has breakfast at 7:30 followed by a little walk around the block. She snoozes away most of the morning, but does get the occasional zoomies with her toys. In the afternoon, Wishbone sniffs around the yard with curiosity until she’s ready for her daily walk. She loves greeting all her neighborhood pals as she trots along confidently. Once she returns home, she takes another nap until she’s ready for dinner, which is served around 6 PM. In the evening, Wishbone hangs out on the couch as she watches TV until she’s ready for bed.

Wishbone gets along well with dogs of all sizes and would be a great companion dog for a resident friendly pup. She is polite to the resident cat. Wishbone is a bit shy when she first meets new people but once she knows you, she loves you. She is crate trained and potty trained. We know this lovely girl will be the Belle of the ball for the lucky family that adopts her! If you’re ready to make your wish, start with Wishbone!

Wishbone is an option for a variety of homes, including those without prior dog owning experience. Kids should be over the age of 9.

More about this rescue

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
