My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Available for Adoption: 11/9/24. Applications need to be approved before a meet and greet will be set up for any Fetching Hearts Rescue dogs.

Meet Peanut!!!!

Peanut is the most beautiful and sweet girl once she gets warmed up with you. Peanut was found in an abandoned house down in Tennessee. The animal control got a call that she was in this house and nobody was there anymore.

Peanut is definitely going to need a quiet home where she will have time to warm up to the people that she is living with. We recommend that she go to a home also with another dog so she is able to be guided by them and show her the ropes. Peanut will need a family that is very patient with her and give her her space and time to open up and flourish. We recommend older kids for her due to the fact of her shyness. Once Peanut does open up and she knows that you are there to love her, she will be your shadow. She enjoys cuddling up with you by a warm fire while watching your favorite Hallmark movies. Peanut will also enjoy having a fenced yard, so she is safe and can have a good time while she is out there. We would recommend training for her so she can learn her commands, as wherever she was prior, nobody ever worked with her.

Trust this when we tell you, she does have a heart of gold and has lots of love inside. Inside. She just needs the time and patience to let her open up. Peanut will need lots of love from her new best friend or family. If you want to have this sweet girl, join your home forever. Please apply for her today!! She is looking for amazing memories going forward!!

If interested in Peanut, please apply online: ADOPTION APPLICATION or email us at Info.FetchingHeartsRescue@gmail.com.

More about this rescue

Fetching Hearts Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3), volunteer run rescue that is dedicated to saving dogs who have been abused, neglected or abandoned and finding loving, caring homes for them.

We rely on a network of foster families so that each dog that we pull into the safety of our rescue is placed in a foster home and is no longer confined to a life in a kennel.

We are committed to helping dogs of all ages, breeds and sizes by partnering with shelters and animal control services right here in Connecticut as well as with several high kill shelters in the South.

We do a full assessment of each dog's temperament and health to ensure that we are able to find the most suitable home for them. Every dog is fully vetted - meaning they are up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, heartworm negative and micro chipped - before being adopted.

The ASPCA estimates that approximately 3.3 million dogs in the United States enter shelters each year, of which approximately 670,000 are euthanized*. Our goal is to advocate for and provide education about the need for spaying and neutering to eliminate what has become an epidemic of unwanted dogs.*
