My name is Tux!

Meet Tux! He is an 6 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 38 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Tux is nervous around strangers! He hasn’t been tested around older children. No younger children or dogs, due to his reactivity! He is on 10mg of fluoxetine daily.

Tux has bitten the owner’s younger daughter 3 times. He first bit her when she poked him in the eye through a baby gate. He also bit her after she tried to take something from him. The third bite incident occurred while the owner had her back turned from her daughter, but she thinks it may have involved a goldfish. He nipped the owner’s mother twice. These incidents occurred when the owner was nursing her baby on the couch and her mother sat down next to her.

He also nipped the owner’s father-in-law twice. One of those incidents occurred when her father-in-law tried to take a bone out of his mouth. The other incident occurred when they were watching football and her father-in-law jumped up and screamed. He also bit a trainer at their local dog daycare. The owner is surrendering him because of his bite history. They have done behavioral training, medication, and have kept him separate from people outside of their immediate family.
