Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Going about my business on a quiet Saturday in May, the phone rings and it’s the anxious pet store manager. Four sweet and wiggling kittens stuffed in a cardboard box with airholes punched in the top had been left on the pet store steps before the store opened. Three solid black boys and a tortie girl were 4-5 weeks old, dirty, hot, and hungry.
Hours later they were clean and their bellies were full after eating on their own. They crashed out in a soft bed—all paws, faces, and tails together. They knewo they were safe.
They are now thriving and strong, the picture of happy kittens. They love each other and like to pal around with the other foster kittens in the house, allowing the older cats to boss them around. Playing chase with the 3 dogs never gets old. It’s so satisfying as a foster to see them get to this stage but even more satisfying when they finally find their forever family.
Born 4/24/2024
Tippy, the lone female of the litter, got her name from the tiny white tip at the very end of her tail. The rest of her coat is all tortoiseshell and she is beautiful. She has always been a little more of a loner than her 3 brothers and is more calm but still friendly. She likes to sleep at the top of the cat tree or in a cubby. She is quite the student of Ornithology, keeping tabs on the birds she spots from her favorite window spot. The vacuum cleaner is her nemesis—she is not a fan of loud noises. She’s a little timid when she first meets a new person but will make her way to your side on the couch or bed in just a bit of time.
