Meet Tracey, the weirdest little goober of a cat you'll ever meet. She's a teeny tiny perma-kitten (1-2 years old, full grown, and around 6 lbs.) who was living on a farm in eastern Colorado before coming to ARR.
Tracey is a bit of a bizarre cat, let's be straight. She will do airplane ears and hiss at you when you approach her, even 3 months into being in foster. But she has never swatted at or bit anyone, and she purrs the moment you pet her. If you are sitting down, she is full of love and affection. She's fully tame but, well, humans are still scary when they're walking around. Maybe she will stop this silly behavior one day, but maybe not. Who knows. Anyway, here are some videos of how absolutely adorable she can be when she wants to:

Tracey came to her foster mom with a HORRIBLE mouth full of infection. She had juvenile stomatitis, an autoimmune condition where the immune system attacks bacteria on the teeth. The cure for this is to remove the teeth, so all Tracey has left is her canines and incisors (front teeth). But she feels SO MUCH BETTER and eats like a champ, so this is not a concern.
Tracey has made it clear that she loves the company of other cats and needs a friend. She gets along with new kitties, but she has also made great friends with her foster buddies Holly and Parker if someone wanted to adopt one of these kiddos with her! She would most likely be fine with a cat-friendly dog and with older children (10 and up).
This silly cat needs someone who understands that she's a quirky little thing who doesn't have the best manners, but she's a really good kid underneath the hissing. She loves to curl up next to you or play with wand toys. She's also a fan of Churu treats and wet food!

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives!
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application here . We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!
Please email cats@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can not accept calls at this time.
PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/
Our adoption process is:
1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet.
2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
