My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to the one and only Maurice! Now, I know what you're thinking: Is Maurice the lovable, loyal companion I’ve been searching for? Well, folks, let me tell ya—you are the forever family! Maurice is the total package. This charming dog is not just a cutie with those soulful eyes and soft coat; he’s got the personality to match! He’s playful when the moment calls for it, but he’s also got that calm, cool, and collected side that knows how to chill. If you’re looking for a pup who’s going to give you endless love and companionship, the test results are in: Maurice is the one!

Now, don’t take my word for it—Maurice has proven himself time and time again. He’s crate-trained, house-trained, and absolutely great with other dogs and cats. He knows how to keep the peace but isn’t afraid to show his fun, goofy side when the mood strikes. And, oh, did I mention he’s a snuggle pro? That’s right, this sweet boy is always ready for some cozy couch time after a good romp outside. So, let’s not waste any more time—Maurice is here, and he’s ready to be your next big reveal! Adopt this sweet, lovable pup today, because with Maurice, everybody wins!

Additional adoption info

The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application (applicant must be at least 23 years of age). Once your application is received a volunteer will contact you to discuss your application. All references listed will be contacted, along with a call to your veterinarian to make sure your current/former pets are/were up to date on all vaccinations. We also complete a background check and home visit will be performed. Once all that is complete, and application is approved, we will arrange meet and greets with our adoptables that may be a good fit for your family and lifestyle. If a perfect match is found, an adoption contract will need to be signed, along with an adoption fee.

All of the above steps are then reviewed by the Chi-Town Pitties, Inc. Board for final approval. Once your application is approved by the Board, we will move forward with scheduling adoption interactions with potential dogs that are a good fit for you and your family.

More about this rescue

We are a small 501c3 nonprofit rescue, committed to leading with our heads rather than our hearts, to help quality dogs find quality homes.

We work closely with area shelters to get as much information as we can about the dogs we take in so we can be as prepared as possible to provide for their needs as we place them in well-matched foster homes. If you would like to join our team of fosters, expect us to have a close ongoing relationship with you as you help your pup get ready for their permanent home.

If you are looking to adopt, expect us to get to know you, too, so we can help you find the dog that will thrive best in your home situation. Like big dogs in general, pit bull type dogs tend to have big personalities, and are an athletic bunch (they even power nap). They aren’t right for every owner, but not every person should be allowed behind the wheel of a Maserati either.

Wondering if a pittie is right for you (and if you are right for them)? Talk to us!
