My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you happened to see the bio for Mickey #600786, then you should have read about Minnie. The two of them were seen together in a Burnaby Park for a couple of months. A couple of good Sarmatians rescued them both and brought them into our care. Once they are spayed and neutered, they may be able to be adopted together.

Even though Minnie and Mickey were found as strays, they have adjusted quickly to the good life. They are completely litter box trained and will accept gentle head pats once they know you. These bunnies are sweet, tidy, and ready to be loved! While they were found together, and may be able to be adopted together once spayed/neutered, they are also able to go to separate homes. Come meet Minnie and Mickey during viewing hours when you're ready to fall in love!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
