TOM NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Come meet Tom and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (Nov. 17th) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Falls Church (6100 Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)!
Name: Tom Best Guess for Breed: Lab/Retriever Mix
Best Guess for Age: 1 year as of Nov 2024 SEX: Male
Approximate Weight: 50 lbs
Gets Along With: Other dogs, and has lived with a cat!
Currently Living at: DC area foster home
Tom is Looking For: My very own humans! I'd love to play, explore, and learn with a family who's ready to keep up with my puppy energy! Once I've had a big day I'd love to snuggle up and relax. Could you be the human(s) for me?
What My Foster Says About Me: Tom is a calm and happy pup! He is well behaved on leash and at home. He likes my older dog - probably wishes he would play a bit, but still respectful of his space! I don’t think Tom has much experience with toys, but he’s quickly learning to enjoy them! I took him to the dog park tonight and he split the time between sniffing around, playing with other dogs, and soliciting attention from humans. He was also interested in chasing balls, but doesn’t quite know to return them yet! After we got home, he went into his crate on his own and then napped for a couple hours. Tom also enjoys food and treats! He would make a good family dog due to his chill but playful demeanor.
14 Nov 24 Dog Day Out update: We gave Tom a break from boarding, taking him to a park for a little running and then to 2 different dog parks. He loved to run, loved to play in the dog park, and was happy to see everyone and everything. He did a great job of matching play styles with the other dogs in the park. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body, and the only thing that seemed to scare him was getting into the car! But didn't mind driving once we got him in there. With us he had tons of energy, and was just looking for the next opportunity to run or play, so an active family for Tom would be great!
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
