My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When Roscoe came to rescue, he was a hot mess! Severely neglected with horrible skin lesions - he had so little hair that we couldn't even guess a breed! Today, his skin has significantly healed, he has picked up weight, and he is a very happy old boy! He'll never be pretty, however, and will always have skin and allergy issues with his eyes. Roscoe remains very food oriented and can be food aggressive, but otherwise, he loves to play with the volunteers. If you are looking to give an old guy a soft place to land in his declining years, Roscoe would love to meet you!

Heartworm Information:

Roscoe is Heartworm positive. Adopters should discuss heartworm protocols with their veterinarian to determine treatment.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is three-fold: submit an application, meet the pet, then arrange for us to do your in-home interview.
Adoption Fees:
Kittens: $60, Cats (1 year plus): $50, Puppies: $250, Adult Canines (1 to 6 years): $200, Seniors (7 years plus): $100 (unless otherwise specified). Adoption fees are not a tax-deductible donation as allowed by IRS regulations. Adoption fees help to offset the cost of the pet's care incurred by Coastal Pet Rescue, which are generally 2 to 3 times the adoption fee amount.
Some special circumstances may change the fee; see pet's listing for actual adoption fee.

All Coastal Pet Rescue pets are current on shots, microchipped* and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters are responsible for any shots that may be due after adoption (particularly for kittens and puppies that must have three rounds of shots to be protected).

Microchip:
CPR has implanted a microchip as part of the adoption process and the chip is included in the adoption fee. However, some chip companies require a registration fee varying from $9.99 to $19.99. The registration fees are the responsibility of the adopter and are NOT included in the CPR adoption fee. Adopters may add this cost to their adoption fee to have CPR register the chip on their behalf.

30 Days Pet Insurance:
As a Petfinder member, all adopters are entitled to a free 30 day insurance policy through PetFirst. Coastal Pet Rescue is not responsible for this policy. Adopters must call PetFirst’s toll-free number 855-710-7387 to activate the coverage. If adopters fail to call, the policy will not be activated.
