Callie is an indoor cat that has always been in loving homes, especially ours for the last 10 years. She was born in a barn and adopted by a friend for the first 5 years of her life where she lived with two older children and another cat. When she moved to Richmond, VA to stay with me, she was fortunate to be the "only child" and was showered with love and affection. She's "dog-like" in the best ways - meaning she is friendly, likes to hang out around her human, and plays fetch (kind of). She's very cuddly and affectionate and used to enjoy a routine of snuggles on my lap while I enjoyed my morning coffee.
What's changed? We have a new baby in the house. She still gets a lot of affection, but more of our attention is now on the baby and Callie is not happy. Although she had never had an issue in the past, she now pees on the baby's things and where the baby has been. We are trying some anti-anxiety measures, but are not sure these will work, especially as the baby starts crawling.
