Hi, I'm Cherokee,

I'm a very socialized friendly, outgoing gal who was abandoned with my 3 kittens. I thought I could trust humans but apparently not all of them. My kittens are in a foster home and I'm ready to love again, thanks to Sheltering Hands. I've been showing them that my heart is open and full by showing them my soulful eyes and pressing my head into their hands when they reach out to pet me. Give me a chance to show you my forgiving loving heart and you won't be sorry.

We're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, comprised mainly of volunteers that is dedicated to Improving the lives of cats through humane care, spay/neuter programs, adoptions, education and support services.

We offer several adoption programs including:

Traditional program - all ages

Love for a LifeTime Program - cats 8+ years/humans 75+ years; medical covered through our Clinic (conditions apply) for lifetime of the cat. Contact us for details.

Take a Chance on Me Program - overlooked cats due to medical/behavioral concerns; 3-month foster commitment with direct support by our staff
