Meet the Pet
***ADOPTION PENDING*** Tikki is currently at our rescue in Georgia but can be transported to New Jersey for adoption. Applications for Tikki should be submitted at socorescue.com (no need to Register or Login). Questions about Tikki and/or our adoption policy should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com; please do not call the rescue's number.***
Tikki's former owner knew something was wrong with the young Chihuahua that she had recently obtained, but wasn't sure what and really couldn't afford to take her to the vet for an examination. Fearing that her puppy would die without help, and she most likely would have, the owner asked SoCo Rescue to take in and "save" the tiny pup. We discovered the Tikki hadn't received any vaccinations, de-wormings or other care while at her original home or with the woman that surrendered her to us, leaving her full of hook, whip and tapeworms. She was extremely lethargic and would not have survived much longer if her former owner hadn't sought out help when she did.
Despite her brush with death, this resillent little girl bounced back rather quickly once she had received de-wormers, vaccines and put on a proper and healthier diet. She immediately displayed what a friendly and playful little girl she is! Tikki will make someone a great little lap dog, doing even better if her adopter is familiar with the Chihuahua breed.
Tikki has now received a round of vaccines, de-wormers and her preventative care. She should received a booster vaccine around Nov. 15th. Her adopter must agree to having Tikki spay once she reaches 6 months of age and provide verification of such to our rescue. She will need all of her basic training.
