My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Teo’s story is nothing short of miraculous. We first learned about him from a local shelter making an urgent plea—a dog in “grave” condition who wouldn’t survive the day without immediate help. Found as a stray, Teo was battling fluid buildup in his lungs and around his heart, along with unexplained bruising on his tiny body. The situation was critical, and time was running out. He was rushed to an emergency hospital, where the vet suspected he had ingested rat poison. Only a blood transfusion and intensive care could save his life. Against all odds, Teo survived, proving he has an incredible will to live.

Today, Teo is a completely transformed dog. He’s brimming with energy and joy, ready to embrace every moment of his second chance. Teo’s zest for life is contagious—he’s playful, affectionate, and full of personality. His favorite activities include playing games, snuggling up for cuddles, and simply soaking in the love he so deeply deserves. After everything he’s been through, Teo’s resilience shines in every wag of his tail.

To keep him thriving, Teo will need his blood retested twice a year for the rest of his life to ensure proper clotting—a small commitment for a dog who’s already overcome so much. Clinically, he’s doing wonderfully, and his future is bright.

Teo is also a social star. He gets along beautifully with other dogs and enjoys being the center of attention in social settings. Despite his challenging past, Teo has emerged as a strong, loving, and charismatic little dog who’s ready to find his forever home.

If you’re searching for a loyal, sweet companion with a heart full of love and a spirit full of charm, Teo might just be the one for you. Are you ready to give this incredible dog the safe and loving home he deserves? Please inquire today!

More about this rescue

Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
