My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sugar and Shiloh are oh-so-sweet (hence the name Sugar) siblings who are ready to take over your lap and give you lots of love and purrs. They were found, abandoned by their cat-mama, in a backyard in Los Altos. Fortunately bright white kittens are hard to miss, so a kind homeowner began feeding them and called for help in getting them ready for adoption. Both kittens were exceedingly calm and gentle right off the street, but were a little shy about their new environment. However they adjusted quickly and are exceedingly well-behaved and super-affectionate.

Sugar and Shiloh are perfect for a work-at-home life, because they have been "helping" their foster-mom while she works in her home office. That help includes keeping her lap warm while she is on zoom calls, playing quietly with each other when she is concentrating on a deadline, and "assisting" with yoga stretches and meditation when she takes a break.

In addition to their calm and loving personalities, Sugar and Shiloh are beautiful, with that very unusual white coat with just a few gray markings; just a gray "cap" and tail.  They are extremely bonded so must be adopted together. They would probably prefer a quiet home but would be fine with older children.

Spayed/neutered, tested, microchipped, FVRCP vaccinated, and treated for fleas and worms.

Please note:

  • Shiloh should be adopted with a littermate

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Potential Adopters fill out an adoption profile and application to help ensure that the cat or kittens they are applying for is/are a good match for their household. This is followed by an interview (phone or in person). All of our cats are in foster homes, so we know their personalities very well and can help you make a great match for everyone in your home.

If there are other pets in the household we provide assistance in introducing the new cat(s). We have lots of experience with multiple cat households, and we will work with you to make sure that everyone gets along and is happy. Cats or kittens can be returned to us within two weeks if they do not fit into your family or household.

Our contract specifically prohibits declawing and requires that if the new owner find that scratching is a problem, they return the cat to us rather than declaw.

Our adoption fees are $100 for a kitten (or $175 for two kittens)and $50 for adult cats (over 12 months old), all of whom are spay/neutered, micro-chipped, immunized, treated for fleas and worms and given any required veterinary treatment before adoption. The value of these treatments is several times the adoption fee!

More about this rescue

Community Cat Rescue was formed to improve the lives of homeless cats through adoption, promotion of spaying/neutering, TNR and colony management and educational outreach to the public. We are a group of experienced rescue and TNR volunteers who have developed a network of foster homes for rescued street cats, and a regular program of outreach for adoption and education at local farmers markets, public events and at pet stores and shopping areas. We host a minimum of 3 outreach events per month, and often as many as 6 events. In addition to adopting out cats as family pets, we also have an active TNR program, including relocation of feral cats as "working cats" to appropriate homes if they are not safe in their original territory.
