Chase’s rescuer watched him make her front porch his refuge as he settled in for what he thought was a fortunate end to his rough journey outdoors. Little did he know she had bigger and better plans for him. When she saw him favoring his paw, she knew the time was right to bring him to our vets for much needed medical care. Now fully healed, this endearing survivor has happily assimilated to life indoors Bianca’s Furry Friends, leading us to believe indoor life is a life he once new and cherished. His time outdoors defending himself may have left him FIV+, but he’s as gentle as they come, making him an amiable companion to calm cats who share his blissful purrsonality. If your home has peace and quiet for Chase to thrive in, you could be the purrson he’s been waiting for all along!

When you come down to NSALA an associate will help you figure out what kind of animal will do best in your situation. At that point they will take out the animals you are interested in so that you may get to know them. You will have plenty of time to play and interact with your new friend in our family friendly areas designated for that purpose. When you decide you want to adopt, an associate will help you fill out an application.

Our adoption fees are as follows:
Puppies (up to 6 months) $350
Adult Dogs (over 6 months) $100
Puppy Mill Rescues $250
Small Breed & Pure Breeds (over 6 months) $250
Kittens (up to 6 months) $100
Double Kittens $150
Adult Cats (over 6 months) $50
Double Adult Cats $75

Where applicable, a $50 Spay/Neuter deposit is required for kittens, $75 for puppies.

Our Adoption Center, is open every Thursday-Sunday 12pm-8pm. On average, our shelter is home to 350 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens. Behind the scenes, the Adoption Center contains a nursery area, medical examination room and a grooming area where new admissions are health checked, vaccinated, bathed and groomed.

Visitors are reminded that adoption is a lifelong commitment. After selecting a pet, each potential adopter is thoroughly screened, ensuring each adopter recognizes the life-changing commitment a new pet can be. To date, over 1,000,000 pet owners have met our high standards and adopted a pet from North Shore Animal League America.
