My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

(DOB 09/08/2022) I'm a cool, calm guy like my namesake. How did I get my name, you ask? As a matter of fact, I was named after the famous painter due to how I found my way into the shelter...covered in paint. But as the original Bob Ross said..."there are no mistakes, just happy accidents" :).

I’m the perfect mix of chill and adventurous. I don’t need a fenced yard—I’m happy to go for walks and explore the world with you! When it’s family time, I’d love to hang out right next to you (but not on top of you, promise). I’m super adaptable, so whether I’m your one and only furkid or sharing the love with other fun-loving 4-legged siblings, I’m happy either way. I like to think of myself as pretty easy-going, flexible, and ready to roll with whatever life throws my way.

I’m basically a walking party in dog form! I LOVE people and am good with kids, too (you can call me the official greeter of the universe) and guess what? I also really LOVE other dogs. Seriously, I’ve never met a dog I didn’t like!  I’m on the lookout for my forever family, and if you’re into playful pups who are equal parts cute, smart, and ready to shower you with love, I think we should meet!! Let’s go on some adventures together!

I’m still young, so I’ve got a bit of a curious streak, but I promise, if you say "no," I’ll do my best to listen (I’m a quick learner, I swear!). I might occasionally get a little creative with the kitchen counters if you’re not looking (perhaps, I am an aspiring chef?). Also, I am still perfecting my “no teeth” manners, so be aware I might give you a little love nibble here and there. Think of it as his way of showing affection. But don't worry, with a bit of training and a watchful eye, I'll be a total pro in no time! Oh, and by the way, I’ve got a serious thing for toys—especially stuffies… the fluffier, the better!

I’m potty trained, keep my kennel nice and tidy (I’m basically a cleanliness enthusiast). I’m still working on walking nicely on a leash, but I’m a quick learner, so we’ll be strolling like pros in no time! And when it’s time for a car ride, I’m all in and will just hop in, and I’m ready for our next adventure!

So, if you’re looking for a fun-loving, go-with-the-flow companion, I think we’d make a great match!

As part of Bob Ross’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Bob Ross, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Review the description of the pet you are interested in to make sure that the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires. In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives the information that we have about the particular pet. The picture of the pet does not tell the whole story.

2. Complete the adoption application at https://pawsforlifenc.org. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. List all animals currently living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the pet you have chosen is a good match for your home.

3. Once the application is submitted we will contact you, your references, and your vet.

4. We require a home visit prior to dog adoptions.

5. If more than one person applies, we will go with the BEST fit. If all things are equal, we go in the order the applications were received.

6. Once the home visit has been completed, you will be asked to complete an adoption agreement.

7. The adoption fee is $325 for dogs under 6 months, $300 for 6 months and older. The adoption fee is $125 for kittens under 1 year ($225 for 2 kittens), $85 for cats 1 year and older. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the pets while in foster care.

8. All Paws For Life NC pets are spayed or neutered if old enough, current on shots, micro chipped, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. Puppies under 6 months of age will require a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee and a special puppy spay/neuter agreement. Kittens under 6 months will require a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee. We are all volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for our work with the pets. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the pets.

9. Congratulations! You are on your way to having your new companion. We hope that you and your new companion share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may wish to give us about your pet at any time.
