My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Archer is a 4-year-old pit and Lapponian herder (close relative to a Norwegian elkhound) mix who weighed nearly 70lbs at intake!

11/08/24 This handsome lovebug is Archer, and he is looking for a home where he can be the only animal. In his previous home, Archer had been getting along fine with the other dogs until his best friend passed away a few months ago. Since then, Archer has become increasingly intolerant toward the other dogs in the home, especially around food. We reccomend Archer be at least the only dog in his next home. He does not have experience with cats, but his previous owner did not think he would do well with them either due to his high prey drive toward small animals and livestock. Archer was said to do wonderful with small kids and babies! He was described as being gentle when playing, and he's very good at alerting to strangers by barking. His previous owner said he would bark at strangers walking by if the kids were out playing in the yard, and he will bark initially if a stranger enters the house but calms down after he gets to know them. He was said to mind well and do well in the car. He is also said to be kennel trained and housebroke, though he may mark occasionally when first introduced into a new home. Archer is a sensitive guy who loves his people and hates hard floors! He will bark at tile and hardwood floors if there is not a rug for him to walk on! He can be a vocal and has been known to get into the trash if given the opportunity, but he makes up for it with his cuddles! If you are looking for a single dog that wants to cuddle up and be the center of your world, give the shelter a call about Archer!November 11, 2024, 8:56 pm
