Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SAPPHIRE is a stunning blue eyed scruffy puppy looking for a home. She appears to be a flat coated retriever mix with an adorable scruffy face. She is a silly, playful, friendly girl, about 4.5 months old and currently 21 months old. Our best guess is Sapphire will be around 40 pounds when fully grown. Sapphire loves toys and loves to run and play and wrestle with other dogs. Puppies Sapphire and Cinders were found dumped in the woods together. We think the two are related but Cinders is maybe a month older than Sapphire. Possibly sisters from the same mister but different mamas? When the girls were found they were shut down and terrified. With patience and kindness from their fosters, they have learned that people are actually pretty alright. If you'd like to meet Sapphire, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Sapphire at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate.

All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee.

Our adoptable adult dogs go to prospective homes for a one week foster-to-adopt trial period.

Sign Adoption Contract

Upon completion of foster-to-adopt period, balance of adoption fee is paid, contract is signed and adoption is completed.

DOGS

We have two ways to adopt a dog:

1) Foster to adopt. You are permitted to take the dog home for a trial visit of up to one week at your home. We can loan you a wire crate for the trial period. This will help you determine if you and the dog are the right match. If yes, then the following weekend you can finalize the adoption at one of our adoption events. If no, then you return the dog to us at one of our adoption events and you are welcome to try a different dog. You will need to complete the necessary paperwork and pay a $100 deposit. The deposit will be applied to the adoption fee if you decide to finalize the adoption.

2) Outright Adoption. If you're sure you've found the right dog, you complete the necessary paperwork, pay the adoption fee in full (cash, check, or credit card only) and take the dog home. You receive all the dogs health records that we have available to us.

Our dog adoption fee is $225 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies. Fee INCLUDES: the dog's spay/neuter surgery, parvo/distemper shots and rabies shots (for dogs over 6 months), deworming, microchipping, flea and tick protection, heartworm testing (for dogs over 6 months), and monthly heartworm protection until the dog gets adopted.
