My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch...a baby? Yep, these two darling chihuahua/pug mixes arrived this past week and brought a big surprise with them!
Imagine our surprise at their vet visit when it was discovered that Jill is pregnant with one puppy! We are extremely fortunate that Jill is now with a phenomenal foster! Jack is with us at the Shelter, patiently waiting for his special family to find him!
Simply adorable is the best way to describe Jack and Jill - they have been excellent with us and at the vet, and Jill is doing very well with her foster! They are each about a year old and very healthy.
Jack and Jill were part of a group of five small dogs taken from a house. They were obviously cared for and loved but the situation was not right for the dogs. We wish we could have taken all five of them and look forward to the completion of our new small dog section, which would have allowed us to take them all!
Jack's favorite activity is to be held by one of our volunteers! He just snuggles right into you and you wish you could hold him forever!
Please come meet this adorable boy and SHARE his story! Jack will be the perfect addition to any family - he will bring the WOW factor if you can bring the love!
Jack and all of his friends are available to meet every day from 9am-12pm, even holidays!
Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!

Additional adoption info

If all goes well and you decide to pursue adoption, you will be asked to complete a pre-adopt. Once your family, including any dogs, have also met with the dog you wish to adopt, your application will be submitted to the Adoption Committee for review. We estimate the pre-adoption process can take up to 14 days or longer.

Please note: AAS is committed to finding the best fit for each of our dogs. For this reason, we will accept multiple applications for a dog. In the case of multiple applications, we will select the applicant that is the best fit based on the needs of the dog.

Adoption fee for puppy/adult dogs is $300.00.
Adoption fee for senior dogs is $150.00.

Dogs qualify as a senior based on their stature/weight and age. The scale below shows the age at which a dog attains “senior” designation:
