My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rocky Road is a 4yo 13lb terrier mix. He’s dog and calm kid 10+ friendly. He’s house trained when kept on a schedule. He’s good with a secure fenced in yard and/or going for harness leashed walks. He loves playing with toys--squeaky toys, stuffed animals and puzzles in particular. He’s very active, cuddly and affectionate with people and other dogs. He needs time to warm up to new people entering “his” home, so needs a gentle introduction. He’s smart and loves training games. He needs time to get used to his new environment and family before introducing to other people &/or dogs.

Rocky Road's foster requires he have a home with another playful dog and/or an active person/family who has time to play and slowly socialize him to other dogs and people along with allowing him to sleep in bed with them and cuddle on the couch. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far.

Rocky Road is neutered, vaccinated, hw negative and microchipped. Currently in Phila, PA. If your home meets the needed requirements and you’re interested in applying to adopt please do so at www.tprescue.org

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

How can I Adopt a Tiny Dog?
When you are ready to adopt a new friend, we will ask you to complete our friendly screening process, which ensures a successful and safe adoption.

Complete an Adoption Application
We will have a brief conversation with you to find out about your daily schedule, determine your preferences and needs, and talk about your previous experience with pets.
We will check two personal references who know how you are with animals.
If applicable, we will call your veterinarian to ensure that previous pets have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and well cared for.
For renters, we will check with your landlord to ensure that dogs are permitted.
Lastly, we will do a home check. We will arrange a visit with the dog and your family including all animals in your home, typically at your home. This is a great opportunity for you to get valuable input on how to integrate your new pet into your home. If we agree it is a mutually good fit, you will sign an adoption contract, pay the adoption fee and take the new dog into your home.

This process typically takes a few days and then you are ready to take your new friend home.
