My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I have a sponsor buddy! My adoption fee is fully waived!

UPDATE: I am now finished with heartworm treatment and ready to be adopted!

Hi, I'm Enya! It's nice to meet you. I'm a great dog looking for a loving family. Something important to know about me is that I am heartworm positive. While this is a serious condition, I can still live a long and healthy life if I get treatment. If you have pets at home, don't worry. I cannot transfer heartworms to other dogs or cats (only mosquitoes can do that), and heartworms can be prevented with a simple monthly pill or chewable.

If you're interested in me, please speak to an adoption counselor about me. I will need to go to a family that will be able to foster-to-adopt me during my heartworm treatment at the shelter!

More about this shelter

HHHS has been a permanent part of the Topeka community since its founding May 4, 1938. The organization is incorporated as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) business for the purpose of sheltering companion animals in need of care, advocating for anti-cruelty protection of animals and promoting humane education and animal welfare issues.
