This dog is available to meet by appointment only.
Meet Abbott, a lovable 7-year-old Chi/Terrier mix who’s ready to find his forever home! He was a bit unsure at the shelter, but he’s blossomed in a foster home. He’s making friends with the resident dog and quickly bonding with his foster family.
Despite being a senior, Abbott has a playful spirit and an infectious enthusiasm for life. He’s a cuddle bug and loves belly rubs and cozy afternoons under soft blankets.
He can be a bit shy around new people or dogs, but once he warms up, he becomes a playful and affectionate little guy who’s ready to shower his loved ones with kisses. He thrives around other small, confident dogs and would love to be part of a multi-dog household, where he can gain even more confidence and learn new skills. A friendly, experienced dog in the home would be a great mentor for him as he learns the ropes.
Abbott is a fun little pup that loves to play. His favorite games include wrestling, playing hide-and-seek around the house, and solving puzzles, which he has a natural talent for.
Abbott enjoys exploring the outdoors, although it’s still a new experience for him. He’s slowly learning about the world around him and likes to watch squirrels and birds. He loves walks around the neighborhood where he can sniff and explore at his own pace. He’s still working on his leash manners and gets a bit scared of new dogs he sees outside.
Abbott has also been building his good dog skills in foster, and his training is helped along by the fact that he is treat motivated and aims to please. He’s easy to handle and even enjoys getting his teeth brushed and his paws cleaned. He’s potty-trained but needs some extra encouragement. He sleeps through the night and is content with the simple pleasures in life.
This sweet boy is looking for a calm and loving home with an experienced adopter who can help him continue to grow and learn. He’d love to have other doggy friends around to make him feel safe and happy. Are you looking for a sweet snuggle buddy for you and your small dog(s)?
