My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Belize, the Brave Forest Explorer!

Belize isn’t just a dog—he’s a survivor with a heart as big as the great outdoors! This 4-year-old German Shepherd mix was rescued by a brave firefighter just as a forest fire was closing in, and he’s ready to start a new chapter full of love, safety, and adventure.

Belize is a nature enthusiast who adores sniffing around, exploring trails, and making new friends (he came to the shelter with a canine buddy and would love a dog sibling!). He's got a gentle, affectionate soul and a strong, resilient spirit that’s looking for a loving home.

Want to be Belize’s hero? Call 630-256-3630 or visit him at 600 S River St, Aurora, IL 60506!
