My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Calling all scruffy dog lovers! Do you like getting dog kisses? Because I love giving them.

My name is Scoob and I have the most gorgeous coloring. I'm basically wearing a superhero mask--maybe I'm part terrier, part raccoon! I'm scruffy and stunning with my black and white wiry coat.

I'm two years old, already neutered, just over 10 pounds, and the sweetest little boy. I love to play (and maybe with some training I'll be able to do some tricks on command?). When I get the zoomies, I will put on a show, including standing on my hind legs and leaping through the air. I can be very high-energy, and I need a human or two that can keep up with me! But since I play hard, I sleep hard, too. I love finding a cozy little blanket nest and curling up near my humans. I also must admit I am a “little mouthy” like a puppy. I enjoy exploring the world with my mouth. Everything I encounter in my daily life, I tend to put in my mouth (leaves, acorns, twigs). I’m really not too picky.

I currently live with two doggy foster siblings about my size, and I spend my days trying to get them to play with me. I would do best in a home with someone who is home most of the time, or at least another friend to play with. One of my foster siblings is older and does not like to play, and I haven’t quite picked up on the social cues yet to leave him alone (haha), so I would not do well in a home with a dog that would not welcome my invitations to play. I also love playing with toys and chewing on a good bone to wind down from the day. I’ve never met a cat, so I don’t know how I’d react to that.

I am working on potty training and have done pretty good when taken out on a schedule. I have lots of energy and get very excited on walks, so I am also working at being better on a leash. If I see a squirrel, I will want to bolt towards it! If you like long walks and adventure, I can definitely keep up! As with most small dogs, I will likely greet other people and other dogs with some non-aggressive barks, but will quickly want pets if my human deems them safe.

I would be best suited for an adult only home, or one with older kids only since I have a lot of energy. I would benefit greatly from a bit of training, as I’m eager to please!
