Onyx is a two year old, spayed, female pit mix who is up to date on vaccines. This is what her foster mom had to say about her:
"As you can see in her pictures, she's a bit of a goof :) She loves long walks, but is also content to snuggle on the couch. She likes to be covered up with blankets. She doesn't like going out in the rain. She takes treats very gently and prefers soft over crunchy. She loves ice, and comes running every time I open the freezer:) She sits/waits while her food bowl is put down. We have been working on leash manners and she's doing well, though not yet perfect. We have also been working on recall and waiting at the door to go out, she's doing well with both.
She likes car rides, but 100% needs to be restrained with a harness and seatbelt . She is potty trained and good in her crate. She doesn't destroy toys and generally doesn't chew things that she shouldn't. She has a high (wildlife) prey drive and I don't think she could live with cats. She is non-reactive to other dogs while out on walks. She had positive interactions with a Trainer friends' dog and another dog at the shelter. Both my friend and shelter staff believe that she will be fine with other dogs with proper introductions and supervision."

The first step to the adoption process is to fill out an application. Once approved we will set up a meet and greet with the animal and all those living in the household include current pets to insure that everyone is a good fit. A home visit may also be required before adoptions are completed.
We are an all-volunteer organization so it may take a couple of days to return an e-mail. When in doubt, please follow-up to be sure we received it!
