My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Boo is an irresistible 13-week-old puppy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This adorable, high-energy girl loves to play, learn, and be right by your side. She’s smart as a whip and eager to please, making her a quick learner for a dedicated family. Boo has mastered “sit” and is quite good with her pee pads, with a bit more to go on leash training. Since she's not fully vaccinated yet (just 1.5 weeks to go!), her outdoor adventures are limited, but she’s got plenty of enthusiasm and curiosity when she’s out and about!

Boo’s spirited nature is a classic German Shepherd/Malinois trait – she’s sassy, energetic, and sometimes a little impatient in her excitement, especially around toys or treats. This behavior is typical puppy playfulness and isn’t aggressive; she just gets a little bitey in her excitement, but she’s gentle and responds well to ongoing training and treats. With more obedience training, she’ll continue to grow into a well-mannered companion.

She thrives on attention from people and loves being around other dogs, ready to make new friends wherever she goes! Boo will fit right in with a family that understands her energy and sassy charm, especially one without cats or with patient feline friends.

Loyal and loving, Boo adores nuzzling into you and being close, whether it’s at your feet or curled up in your arms. She’s been spayed, microchipped, and is ready to bring her playful spirit and boundless affection to the right home. If you’re looking for a lively, intelligent puppy who’ll be a faithful companion by your side, Boo might just be the perfect match for you!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is a couple of steps.

We ask you to begin by filling out an adoption application to express your interest in any of our animals. Once we receive the application and looked it over, we will contact you to answer any questions you may have about the pet and set up a meet and greet with the 4 legged friend you are interested in.

At that point, if you are interested in moving forward with the adoption, we will conduct a home check to make sure everything's good. We will ask you to sign an adoption agreement and ask for a donation for the adoption process.

More about this rescue

The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation was founded by Nancy and Katherine Heigl to celebrate the memory of a wonderful son and brother. In 1986, Jason was killed in a car accident. He was only fifteen years old.

Throughout his brief lifetime Jason loved all animals, especially dogs and cats and monkeys. He lived his life extending compassion and kindness to all creatures great and small. This foundation is his legacy.

The mission of the JDHF is to eliminate the needless suffering inflicted on animals by human cruelty, indifference, and ignorance. Our primary focus is the greater Los Angeles area, for now.

In pursuit of our mission, the JDHF routinely funds:

Our internal rescue group, the Heigl Hounds of Hope.
Other qualified rescue groups, via Networking donations.
The Transport of LA shelter dogs to states with great demand.
Free Spay Neuter procedures for the pets of qualified caretakers.
Compassion Education programs.
And we thank you for your support.
