My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile: Mimi is an estimated 2-year-old female chihuahua who has had several litters in her young life; she was intercepted as a surrender to the packed San Bernardino shelter and was too far along to be spayed. She'll be arriving to foster care and we will find her a loving forever home once she's whelped and spayed!

Foster Update: Mimi is a great mama who is ready for some "me time."  She would do best in a household where she can be the one-and-only and with people the majority of the time.  She is very sweet and prefers human company over other canines.  While she eventually learned to tolerate a same size and age dog in foster care, but she never played with her and occasionally growled to single her disdain.  On walks, she barks and lunges at other dogs, even if they're across the street or half a block away.  But she greets every human she meets with a wagging tail and wiggles for petz  She's a people person!  Temperament wise, she's pretty low key.  She enjoys short walks but is just as happy to lounge around.  Mostly, she wants to be with her person.  She can get vocal when confined away from people or outside in a fenced yard on her own.  She is 80% house-trained but needs consistency and reinforcement (no one likes to go out in the rain).  Fortunately, she takes care of business quickly on leash.  Has not been tested with cats, but largely ignore a house rabbit and pet ducks in foster home.

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current core vaccinations per AVMA standards, negative heartworm test and microchip with lifetime registration. Adoption fees benefit all the animals in our rescue, and may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 non-profit organization.
