Hello world, meet Daisy!
Daisy is a beautiful flower who is ready to bloom in your forever home! She is a 2 year old, 64 lb sweetheart who will do anything for a treat and a cuddle. She absolutely adores her people, is super smart, and is quite calm in the home, until she gets the zoomies! She is making incredible strides with her nervousness around new people in the home and other dogs outside.
What Daisy loves: Daisy loves belly rubs and chest scratches, her squeaky toys and bones, and laying on her favorite blankie next to her favorite people! She especially loves treats.
Commands known: Because she is so food-motivated, she is so easy to train and eager to learn. We could see this girl learning every trick in the book! Daisy knows her basics commands like "sit", "come", “no”, and “off”. She is crate trained and can be left at home for a few hours, especially if you leave her with a bone or Kong. But if you’re home, she’d prefer to be hanging with you!
Potty details: She is also house trained, and will let you know it’s time to go out by sitting by the door.
Leash manners: Daisy really enjoys her walks, and loves to sniff around. Daisy has been using a transitional leash to help her with some pulling and it has been a total success. She can get distracted by birds and squirrels but is easily redirected with a treat.
Dog/kid manners: Due to a recent scary interaction with another dog, Daisy can be fearful of other dogs. She is working on gaining her confidence on walks with her foster and is making amazing strides! We know Daisy lived with kids and cats in her previous home, but slow introductions to all new people and animals is still very important to her. She may be scared of new people at first, but warms up quickly after getting treats from her new friends.
Daisy would most likely do best as the only dog in the home, or with a confident, gentle dog who can show her she is safe. This sweet, gentle girl has clearly gone through so much in her short life, after being surrendered by her owners due to financial hardship. Daisy was clearly loved by her family and she still gives love very easily to everyone she meets. She is pretty low maintenance and doesn’t need much, but still gives so much in return! Daisy has won our hearts and we know she will win yours! She will be an incredible addition to anyone’s family!
